I know many people who claim that the truth is the most important thing to them… I, myself, have been known to say this… are just fooling themselves.

When one really thinks about it though… Everybody lies.
From the first time your parents asked you what you were up to and you said “nuting” you’ve been a liar.

I have a very loving and respectful partnership. He is the love of my life and I trust him beyond all else… and he lies to me all the time.
“Why did you change the show?” he asks.
“Because you were asleep” I tell him.
“Was not” he replies. LIE

“What’s gotten you so worried?” I ask
“Nothing” he replies. LIE. I can see the hamster running a mile a minute in his brain.

“Are you Okay?” either one of us.
“I’m Fine.” the response. LIE

We each have a certain level of acceptance when it comes to lying, and to think you don’t is just another lie you tell yourself.

There is a difference between honesty and lying. One does not necessarily exclude the other. My partner is a very honest person, even if he lies to me all the time. Though, when it comes down to the really important things I know he tells me the truth.

I mean, people have been searching for ‘the most honest person’ since ancient Greek. One has yet to be found.
