When you take a look at how Aphrodite grew up and the challenges she faced at a young age it is no surprise that she goes by Malone and is as angry as she is. She needed to be tough growing up in the system. She had to learn to fight, defend herself, be strong and show no emotions. She lost anyone who loved her and wanted what was best… all but Duncan. They still have each other’s backs.
It’s Malone and Duncan against the world and they are going to survive the only way they know how. They learned in juvie that drugs where the way to go. Always in demand and if you set up the supply right you can be the last one standing. Make a name for yourself, be the drug dealer of choice, be recognizable, have on hand what anyone wants.
They’ve done well for themselves, even with their limited education… Neither one made it past the first week of junior high, Malone accumulative time is less than a day. When they were under age they made sure only one went to juvie at a time. Now, though, with this new legal system they need to figure out a different path.
